In November 2009 we had a catastrophic server failure during the holiday season. Our websites all were down and 800Hosting didn’t even know. Once we notified them, they didn't even know we had a website at our URL. For six days customers visiting our multiple web sites found NOTHING! We worked with them to have this resolved over several days. During which we were losing sales. When they thought they had resolved the problem, they would notify us that it was fixed. When we went to go check, we had to notify them that it was NOT and the websites were still down. This went back and forth, until 800Hosting blocked our e-mails saying if we are answering e-mails we cannot be repairing the web sites. It was like a bad candid camera skit. Once they were able to resolve the problem, we noticed our web sites were up BUT Many files were missing. This is product images and customer data. When we asked they reinstall missing files from our daily back up they could NOT! We were able to recover about 50% of our files NO thanks to 800hosting, and had to work to load product images so we could once again resume sales. We have lost customer data they had uploaded previously This caused significant customer dissatisfaction We never received a reason for the cause of the server failure and the owner refused to come to the phone We were offered $15 dollar a month memory upgrade for free. We hired a lawyer and 800 hosting initially agreed to a small settlement. Their settlement offer was a token amount given the damages we suffered due to their misrepresentations. However when it came time to pay that small amount they demanded we remove all posts on 800hostings poor performance calling our factual posts a "smear campaign. We were also asked to sign an agreement acknowledging our claims were exaggerated. This was an unreasonable demand and we will just maintain our negative posts by updating our experience with this company. They have consistently dealt in bad faith and will regret their decision to provide such poor customer service having promised more.
