I have contacted John Richard Stephens via facebook regarding Weird History 101 and wait answer to my comments:Your weird hystory 101 is almost a fiasco. Paragraph on page 118 "From the 9th to the 20th centuries, the Roman Catholic Church excommunicated almost every type of animal" is FALSE. Ahead, same para: "Ïn Delemont, in 1906, a Swiss dog was one of the last animals to be excommunicated". This citation seems to be taken from Appendix F of The Criminal Prosecution and Capital Punishment of Animals, available in pdf thru internet, the title of the appendix being "chronological list of excommunications and prosecutions of animals from the..." How would you prove a single excommunication event in 20th century? Does the heading of the appendix imply that those animals were excommunicated AND prosecuted? You better check the references.
