last month, i bought a new tracker pro160 boat, 2014 model with the mercury 40 hp motor. the boat was just what i wanted, until i put it on the water. it has plenty of power and good looks, except that it porpoises badly. at anything above 4500 rpm or 22 mph. it does't matter if there are on or two people aboard, calm or rougher water. I have to run it with the trim all the way down (in). if you raise the trim any at all it just gets worse. the faster you go, it gets worse. when i reported it, the dealer said it was impossible. i complained again, and he said it was operator error. i took it back to him (180 mile roundtrip) and he took it to the lake and as soon as he returned he had everyone of his tech's looking at it. He lowered the engine on the transom and told me to try it, but he told me three times before i left the dealership to call him and tell him how it did. nothing changed. the boat is at the dealership now. i feel that i have been wronged. the boat is totally unsafe and and is practically unusable.
